Michael Cedro Sr. 89 of Branford, formerly of Main Street, East Haven, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2015. He was born June 2, 1926 in New Haven to Vito and Anna (Cassata) Cedro. He is preceded in death by parents and wife, Anna (Matteo) Cedro. Michael is survived by his son, Michael Cedro Jr., of Branford and five siblings; Phil Cedro, Vito Cedro (Louise), Ida DePalma, Mary Bogrette (John) and Josephine DelMonaco. Michael is also survived by niece, Charlotte Mansfield (Bob) of East Haven, caregivers, Laura Dolecki of Branford and Julie Williams of New Haven and numerous other nieces/nephews. Michael and his two brothers where part owners of V.Cedro and Sons Banana Distributors. The business was incorporated in 1953 and operated by the family until it was sold in 1990.
Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Michael was a devout Catholic, he dedicated his life to his wife, Anna, son, Michael and God. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford CT 06405 in memory of Michael Cedro Sr.
