Obituary of Anne Thomson

Anne Thomson 91 of East Haven and Branford passed away September 6, 2015 at Branford Hills Health Care Center. She was born July 26, 1924 in New Haven to Frank and Rose (Sandor) Lecza. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, William Thomson (1976), sisters, Helen Gleza, Irene Blake, Rose Stiber, brothers, Frank Lecza and Ronald Lecza. Anne is survived loving daughter, Lynn Olsen (Joseph) of Branford and two grandchildren; William Olsen and Christina Olsen. Anne is also survived by a sister Barbara Lecza of Arizona, brothers, Joseph Lecza (Adelaide) of East Haven and Roger Lecza (Betty) of Guilford and numerous nieces/nephews. Anne was a retired employee with over 33 years of service at the East Haven School District working in the cafeteria. She sang in the St. Vincent choir and enjoyed playing bingo at the East Haven Senior Center. Anne was an avid bowler; she was elected into the New Haven Women’s Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2003. During her time with NHWBA she served on the board and attended 28 Women’s International Bowling Congress Tournaments. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Friday at 9:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford.
