Joseph F. Mancini 79 of East Haven passed away September 27, 2015 at CT Hospice. He was born August 2, 1936 in New Haven to George and Mary (Conroy) Mancini. He is preceded in death by parents, brothers, Michael Mancini and George Mancini, sisters, Lucille Flynn, Margaret Sakonchick and Maryanne Vandermaelen. Joseph is survived by loving wife of 49 years, Catherine (Cafferty) Mancini and two daughters; Lauren Mancini-Averitt (Raymond) of New Haven and Heather Brinton (Robert) of Bethany. Joseph is also survived by three grandchildren; Justin Averitt, Harrison Brinton, Catherine Brinton and a sister, Phyllis Kaercher (Walter) of North Haven. Joe was an US Army veteran and retired employee of the State of Connecticut, Department of Income Maintenance. He was a graduate of Notre Dame HS class of 1954 and Quinnipiac College. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his favorite team, the New York Yankees. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Bernadette Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rev. Patrick J. Cafferty, S.J.
