Emma (Marcell) Silva, 82 of East Haven passed away peacefully on July 2, 2023 at Apple Rehab in East Haven. She was born March 21, 1941 in New Haven to Henry and Dorothy (Rist) Marcell. Emma is survived by her two loving children: Joseph Silva (Carol) of East Haven and Joann Burke (William) of East Haven along with one grandson she adored, Nate Silva. She is also survived by her sister, Diane DeFrancesco (Gaetano) of West Haven. Emma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Christopher Silva (1998) and three siblings: Sebastian Marcell, Linda Mattei and Josephine Conte. Emma was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. The Silva/Burke families would like to extend special “Thank You” to the entire staff of Apple Rehab in East Haven for their kind and compassionate care. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will then leave the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with burial to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown MD, 21741 in memory of Emma Silva.
