Obituary of Terry Schoendorf

Theresa “Terry” (Ponzillo) Schoendorf, 76 of New Haven passed away September 20, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born September 28, 1946 in New Haven to the late Clement and Carmel (Aceto) Ponzillo. Terry was predeceased by her husband, George.Terry is survived by her four loving and devoted children; Michael Prodoti (Anne) of North Branford, Ralph Prodoti of Arizona, Tina Masciangelo (Nick) of North Haven and George Schoendorf of New Haven along with three grandchildren she adored; David Casner, Michael Prodoti and Francesca Masciangelo. Theresa is also survived by her two sisters, Rafaella “Rae” Fritsch (Walter) of East Haven and Gloria Cafiero (Andy) of West Haven along with numerous nieces/nephews. Her angel nephew, Walter awaits her arrival. She also leaves behind her first husband and lifelong friend, Michael (Mickey) Prodoti. Terry worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Branford Hills Healthcare Center for many years until her retirement in 2009. She loved spending time with her family and trips to the casino. A combination of the two, was a jackpot in itself. She loved everyone, asked for nothing and stood strong through the toughest of storms. Her absence will speak volumes and her beautiful heart will be forever missed. Family will receive friends at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven from 2 to 5 P.M. on Sunday, September 24, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 25, at 11 A.M. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Burial will be at a later date in East Lawn Cemetery.
