Obituary of Donald Y. Wynne

In North Branford, Jan. 23,2011, with his loving family at his side, Donald Y. Wynne Sr., 95, of Foote Rd., East Haven. Beloved husband of the late Mae G. Marlowe Wynne. Father of Donald Y. ( Frances ) Wynne Jr. of North Branford , David E. ( Betty ) Wynne of East Haven and the late Raymond J. Wynne. Grandfather of Maureen and David Wynne. Great grandfather of Zachary and Gabe Wynne. Brother of Irene ( Enzo ) Montesi and the late Leslie L. Wynne and Mercia C. Sportino. Father in law of Linda Wynne. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born Aug. 19,1915 in Hartford a son of the late Harold L. and Mary I. Yates Wynne he graduated from high school and work for a time before joining the US Army in 1940 to serve during WWII.He served in the Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged in 1945 and was later classified as a disabled veteran. He had been employed for many years at the former Revere Corp. in Wallingford. Funeral service will be held TUESDAY morning at 9:00 in the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call MONDAY ( TODAY ) from 6 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the East Haven Animal Shelter, 183 Commerce St., East Haven, CT 06512.
