At home, Feb. 3,2011, Harry W. Carofano, 86, of Coe Ave., East Haven. Beloved father of Michelle Chipello of West Haven and Desiree Martone of East Haven. Loving grandfather of Christopher Chipello and Cologeno Martone. Special friend of the late Rita Kapavitch. Born March 14,1924 in New Haven a son of the late Rocco and Emma Messner Carofano, he was a graduate of the former Commercial High School in New Haven and served with the US Army Air Corp in the European Theater during WWII. Harry was employed for many years in the sales dept. at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in East Haven.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Wednesday morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9:00. Burial with military honors will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 7:30 - 8:30.
