Suddenly and peacefully, in his home, April 13,2011, Raymond W. Malone,NHFD(Ret),84,of North High St.,East Haven,formerly of Short Beach Rd., East Haven. Husband of the late Joan Scholhamer Malone. Survived by his devoted children, Ray Malone of Middletown, Patti (Joe) Russo of New Haven, Mary Lou (Alex) D'Amato of Clinton and Edward Malone,NHFD,of East Haven, his adoring grandchildren, Alena and Joseph Russo, both of New Haven and Eddie Malone of East Haven, a sister Peggy McGuire of New Haven;a brother John Malone,NHFD(Ret) and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by an infant son William and two brothers Joseph Malone and Robert Malone ,NHPD. Born Sept. 28,1926 in New Haven a son of the late Raymomd J. and Jane Flanagan Malone, he served with the US Navy Armed Guard during WWII. Raymond was employed as a firefighter with the New Haven Fire Dept. for over thirty five years. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Monday morning at 8:30.Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clare Church at 9:00. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 - 8 pm.
