John F. DeFilippo, 54, of East Haven died unexpectedly on April 21,2011. John was born June 11, 1956, and was a lifelong resident of East Haven. A 1974 graduate of East Haven High School, he was a truck driver and worked for the Stop and Shop Corp. before his retirement. John was a loving, kind and giving individual. He had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh. He has touched lives and helped many in his life. His passion was music. The Beatles and The Doors were his favorites. He could tell you anything about them. There was never a day where you wouldn't hear music coming from his kitchen, He had such an eclectic taste in music that you would stop and ask him "What's that?" He would explain about the particular style and artist. John was predeceased by his parents John "Jack" and Florence Darby DeFilippo.He is survived by his sister Ginny DeFilippo, step-sister Linda David and his dog Raymond. John also leaves his many friends who over the years he considered his family. Funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 in the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 - 8pm. John was very supportive of University Radio Stations.
