In Franklin,MA, June 30,2011, Lydia Assante Carbone Joity, 83, of Townsend Ave., New Haven. Wife of the late Theodore Carbone and Michael Joity. Mother of Theodore (Noreen) Carbone of GA, David(Bibiana) Carbone of FL, Catherine (Michael) Cretella of New Haven, Christine Carbone of MA and Kenneth (Judy) Carbone of MD. Grandmother of Alisa Paradise,Christopher Moniello,David Carbone ,Steven Carbone and the late Heather Carbone. Great grandmother of Cameron Carbone,Camden Paradise and Hayley Paradise. Sister of Michael Assante of MI. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Born July 10,1927 in Barrington, RI a daughter of the late Giacomo and Columbia Dalessio Assante she had been employed as a receptionist in a law office in New Haven and then with Dr. DeLuccia,DDS. Lydia was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in East Haven.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Tuesday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc., 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.
