In New Haven, Aug.22,2011, Rose DeRenzo Acampora, 90, of New Haven. Wife of the late Andrew Acampora. Mother of Andrew J. Acampora and his wife Margret of Swampscott,MA and Margaret "Maggie" Acampora of New Haven. Grandmother of Elizabeth Evangelista of Swampscott,MA, Julie Doherty of Methuen,MA, Gregory Acampora of San Francisco,CA, Benjamin Acampora of Lynn,MA and Edson Acampora of Boston,MA. Great grandmother of Gina and John Evangelista and Andrew and Luke Doherty. Sister of the late Carmel Tescione, Madelyn Fonda, Angelina Canzanella, Anthony DeRenzo, Andrew DeRenzo, Ralph DeRenzo and Albert DeRenzo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her niece and good friend Antoinette "Babe" DeRenzo. Born Nov.3,1920 in New Haven a daughter of the late Paul and Antionette DeLieto DeRenzo, she was employed for over twenty five years as a pastry cook at Troop Jr. High School in New Haven. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in East Haven, was a former Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader, a member of the East Shore Seniors and was a member and former treasurer of the Dante Club.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven Thursday morning at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:00. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday (TODAY) from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Journeys For Hope,(a non profit organization founded by Rose's son Andrew, which serves homeless young adults from ages 18-23)PO Box 244, Lynn,MA 01903.
