In Brewster, N.Y., August 28, 2011, Lorraine Appleby Fanning of Lake Carmel, N.Y., Formerly of East Haven, wife of the late Henry J. Fanning, Sr. and loving mother of Henry J. Fanning ,Jr. of Lake Carmel, N.Y.,cherished grandmother of Daniel, Caitlin, and Nicole Fanning and sister-in-law of Mary Fanning of West Haven. She was predeceased by two sisters, Arline Shute and Jane Fieinbeg. Mrs. Fanning was born in New Haven, October 26, 1924, daughter of the late Francis and Ada Pierpont Appleby. She was a former bookkeeper for the Seaboard Oil Co. and the New England Carriers Co. Prior to moving to New York and residing with her son, she had been a resident of East Haven for many years and a parishioner of Our Lady Of Pompeii Church.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church Wednesday morning at 9:30. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven prior to mass from 8a.m.
