In Middletown, September 8, 2011, Robert A. DeCesare, Sr. of Broadway North, Westbrook, formerly of East Haven, husband of the late Gladys Anderson DeCesare and father of Kathryn Milano of North Haven, Robert A. DeCesare, Jr. of Guilford, John R. DeCesare of Hamden and Mark S. DeCesare of North Haven; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a dear friend and companion, Roseann (Roxy) Nowsch. Mr. DeCesare was born in Bridgeport, November 9, 1918. He was predeceased by his father Anthony R. DeCesare and his mother Marie Vecchia DeCesare.He was a retired process engineer for Pratt Whitney Corp. where he had served for over 30 years. Bob was a resident of East Haven for 58 years before moving to Westbrook and was a former active member of the East Haven Boy Scouts and Democratic politics in East Haven. He was a member of the Westbrook Lodge of Elks and a Navy veteran of World War II. Funeral from The Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Monday morning at 9 o’clock. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
