Obituary of Ruth P. Courtois

Ruth Pugsley Courtois, 78, of East Haven died peacefully on Oct. 3,2011 at the CT Hospice in Branford with her family by her side after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Beloved wife of Daniel F. Courtois.Mother of Kathleen A. Nielsen and husband Nicolai of Sparta,NJ, Daniel "Simon" Courtois and wife Wendy of Christ Church,New Zealand, John Courtois and wife Ellen of Cashmere,WA and the late Kerry Jean Augur. Grandmother of Brittney Ruelle Nielsen,Devan Renee Courtois and Kyle Arthur Courtois. Sister of Margaret Wells of Colchester and the late George Pugsley. Ruth is also survived by a son in law Michael Augur of Wallingford and her loving nieces and nephews and her cousin Leslie Morgan of CA. Born Jan. 21,1933 in New London,CT a daughter of the late Rodney and Anna F. Pugsley, she attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from W.P.I. in New London. She was employed as a secretary for the North Branford Public School Dept. of Special Education for over twenty five years. Ruth loved to travel to visit her children and grandchildren. Her favorite place was Aruba and the Bahamas where she and her husband travelled every year with a large group of family and lifelong friends. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Saturday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven at 10:00.
