In Texas,Oct.8,2011, Joyce(Giovannina) Dedonato Guarnieri, 86, formerly of Woodbridge and East Haven. Wife of the late Michael Guarnieri. Mother of Michael (Madelyn) Guarnieri of North Haven and Paul (Katherine) Guarnieri of Leander,TX. Grandmother of Michael (Erin) Guarnieri, Matthew (Mary) Guarnieri, Christopher (Maggie) Guarnieri and Ashley (Eric)Hernandez. Great grandmother of Michael,Eleni,Matthew and Joseph Guarnieri and Eric,Vincent,Gabriella and Mason Hernandez. Sister of Elvira Martini and Phyllis Dedonato, both of East Haven. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born April 13,1925 in New Haven a daughter of the late Edward and Carmela Barbuto Dedonato, she was a graduate of the former Commercial High School in New Haven where she was captain of the girls basketball team . She worked as a bookkeeper at SCSU for many years and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Friday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9:30. Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8pm.
