Jim Lee passed into eternal rest on October 20, 2011. Born in the Hill section of New Haven; he was a resident of City Point for more than 40 years. Big Jim was husband to Carolyn Mulqueen Lee, son to the late Jane (Flanagan) Lee and James Henry Lee; brother to Robert E. Lee and Mary Ellen Lee Murphy and the late Jane Lee Hively (John); father to Carolyn Lee (Robert Jackson),Mary-Margaret Lee Inglese (Arthur), James Henry Lee IV and Megan Lee; and grandfather to Anne-Marie Inglese and Sarah Inglese. Jim worked at the Knights of Columbus for fifty one years and was a member of the KFC Council 8882,New Haven,where he was a lifetime and third degree member. He also worked for the New Haven Register for thirty years. Jim loved his cottage in Mansfield Grove, East Haven. He was devoted to his family and his lifelong friends in City Point and Mansfield Grove. His passion was his family. He worked two jobs to support his family, cared for them fiercely, and talked about them to all of his friends and colleagues. Jim was a giant of a man because he needed a body big enough for his heart. Jim loved and was loved deeply by all his family and friends. Jim was also a man of many nicknames: Big Jim to many, Moose to his childhood/lifelong friends, and Poppi Jim to his grandchildren. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Monday morning at 10:30. Mass of Christian burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11 o’clock. Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 7 pm. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society, 825 Brook St.,Rocky Hill,CT,06067.
