Obituary of Ralph J. Altiere

In Branford,Feb.22,2012, Ralph J. Altiere,92,of East Haven. Beloved husband of Gesimina Nuzzo Altiere and the late Olga Altiere.Father of Ralph J.(Melinda)Altiere of Boulder,CO and Carolyn(Davis)Edmunds of Charlotte,NC. Grandfather of Emily and Nicholas Altiere. Brother of Lillian Grace of Hamden and the late Annette D'Agostino and Mary Colovolpe.He is also survived by Gesimina's children who loved him very much, Edward Mase of East Haven,Patricia Duenkel of New Haven and Nancy(Richard)Porrazzo of East Haven, Gesimina's grandson Edmund Duenkel who was very supportive of her in her time of need, Ralph's dear friend Napporn Saeyean of East Haven and his best friends and canine companions, Jack and Nicole.Born May 12,1919 in New Haven a son of Theresa Siano Altiere, he was a US Army veteran of WWII and had been employed for many years by the US Postal service, retiring as a supervisor. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Monday morning at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Friends may call Sunday from 3-6pm. Memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd. Ralph's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and aides from the VNA who took care of him at home ,especially Cathy Lane who was his nurse and also everyone at Ct Hospice in Branford for the fine care given to him.
