In Hamden,March 8,2012,Robert F. Furey,80,of Hamden. Husband of the late Loretta L. Sheldon Furey. Father of Thomas C. Furey of Northford,Laurie Fazzone of East Haven and Colleen Greco of Northford. Grandfather of Joseph Fazzone and David Greco. Brother of Leo Furey of New Haven and Beverly Bradley of West Haven. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Born Feb.25,1932 in New Haven a son of the late Thomas and Grace Furey, he served with the US Army and was employed for many years as a maintenance worker at the New Haven Public Library. While in the Army he was a member of the Army boxing team. He was a member of American Legion Post 189,East Haven and was an avid golfer, mostly at the Alling Memorial Golf Course in New Haven.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave.,East Haven, Monday morning at 9:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9:30. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Monday morning from 8-9am.
