Obituary of Lucie M. Balletto

Lucie M. Kipp Balletto,96,of East Haven passed away peacefully on March 25,2012. Beloved wife of the late Vincent Balletto,MD. Wonderful mother of Martha(Frederick)Fawcett of Orange,Elaine(John)Carr of Branford,Susan(Siad)Swan of Orange and Jayne(Bruce)Scobie of East Haven. Loving grandmother of Brian(Bridget)Fawcett,Kipp(Rebecca)Fawcett,Jeremy(Michell)Swan,Megan(Seth)Anapolle,Emily(Jeffrey)Kovar,Amanda Scobie and the late Marc Swan. Cherished great grandmother of Jacob and Brooke Fawcett,Thomas Fawcett,Lila and Tess Anapolle and Abigail Swan. Sister of the late Jacob Kipp,John Kipp and Sophie Black. Born Oct.2,1915 in North Haven a daughter of the late Jacob and Lucie Schroeder Kipp, she was a graduate of Lyman Hall High School and had worked closely with her husband for many years at his medical office. She was a very active member of the Old Stone Church in East Haven for seventy two years where she was a former deaconess and a member of the Women's Fellowship. Lucie traveled the world with her late husband. During their trip to Africa she fell in love with giraffes. She enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens which she maintained beautifully and always loved picking and arranging bouquets.She was a wonderful cook and baker who was well known for her perfect pies.Lucie was a sweet,kind,gentle lady who will be missed by all who loved her. Her family will be forever thankful for her special angels,Susan,Cathy and Melissa, and for all of the wonderful staff on Ledgewood 2 for their loving care,compassion and support. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday afternoon at 12:30 in The Old Stone Church,East Haven. Burial was private.There are no calling hours.
