Obituary of Pedro M. Curbelo

In New Haven,April 26,2012,Pedro M.Curbelo,76,of East Haven. Beloved husband of Juana"Luz"Rivera Curbelo. Brother of Luis Curbelo and Frances Curbelo,both of East Haven and the late Hilda Gorrin. Born Jan.18,1936 in Havana,Cuba a son of the late Candido and Maria Toledo Curbelo, he came to the United States in 1966 and worked as a manager for over thirty five years at Rockbestos Co. Pedro was a devout member,trustee and leader of St. Rose of Lima Parish in New Haven. He was also the business manager of the church. He was a graduate of the Archdiocesan Biblical School, was a member of the National Catholic Campaign for Human Development and was a founding Grand Knight of Our Lady of Guadolupe Council # 14198,Knights of Columbus at St Rose of Lima. He was also a member of Assembly # 2459 4th degree. Along with his wife he was the founder of Elm City Congregations Organized(ECCO) Viewing will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church begining at 4:00pm on Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:30 pm Monday. A prayer service will be held at the church on Tuesday morning at 10:00 with burial to follow in East Lawn Cemetery.
