In Mass, May 1, 2012, Virginia G. Kidney Devine, 95, formerly of Cosey Beach Rd., East Haven.Wife of the late William E. Devine Sr. Mother of the late William E. Devine Jr. Survived by grandson William T. Devine and wife Kathleen and great grandchildren Ashley and William T. Devine Jr., granddaughter Sherri Hoshshield and husband David and great grandchildren Shannon and Caitlin Hoshshield, Granddaughter Kelli Holtman and husband James and great grandchildren Amanda and Alexandra Holtmann, a sister in law Olive McDermott, a niece Laurie Nitchke, several beloved friends and other nieces and nephews in NY and MI.Born March 5,1917 in Middletown,CT a daughter of the late Michael E. and Genevieve Sockacki Kidney, she had lived in East Haven for over sixty years before moving to Haverhill,MA to reside with her grandson William and his wife Kathleen and grandchildren Ashely and William Jr. While living in East Haven she had worked at the Momauguin branch of the Hagaman Memorial Library, was a member of St. Claire Church, and the East Haven Historical Society, was a past president of the Riverside Homemakers and the Momauguin School PTO. She also had assisted the Red Cross with the swimming program at Momauguin Beach. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Saturday morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian burial at St. Claire Church at 9:00. Burial will follow in Alderbrook Cemetery, Guilford. Friends may call Friday from 5-8pm.
