At home,May 7,2012,June Daley Merico,88,of New Haven. Beloved wife of William D. Merico Sr. Mother of William D.(Lori)Merico Jr. of New Haven and Dianne M. Flynn of Clinton. Grandmother of Robert M. Flynn Jr., Kristy(William)Manning and Devan Merico.Great grandmother of Marcellus and Perseus. Sister of Frances Driscoll of Wallingford. She was predeceased by her son in law Robert M. Flynn Sr. Born June 26,1923 in New Haven a daughter of the late Charles and Anne McMahon Daley, she was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and had been employed in the office of Michael's Jewelers of New Haven for many years. June was a faithfull member of St. Francis Church in New Haven and was a member of the Home School Assoc. of the church. She was also a former Brownie leader at Quinnipiac School and also was a past president of the school PTA. Along with her husband she was the originator of the Saturday Night Canteen in Fair Haven. A talented dancer, she loved all types of dance especialy tap and ballroom . Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Thursday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial 10am in St. Francis Church,Ferry St., New Haven . Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry St., New Haven, CT 06513 or the Alzheimers Assoc., 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden,CT 06518.
