At Home,Oct.5,2012,Stephen F. Mayer Sr.,96,of East Haven.Husband of the late Clara Chaosky Mayer. Father of Valerie(Alphonse)Savarese of Monroe,Stephen F.(Georgiann) Mayer Jr. of New Haven,William L.(Judith)Mayer of East Haven and the late Robert.L.Mayer and Frederick P. Mayer. Brother of the late Frank Mayer and Helen Baribault. Also survived by twelve grandchildren,fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born April 3,1916 in New Haven a son of the late Ignatz Louis and Anna Nameth Mayer, he was a graduate of Hillhouse High School,class of 1935 and served with the US Army National Guard. He was a longtime resident of Thompson Ave.in East Haven and had been employed for many years as a set-up man in the pressrooms of several area manufacturing companies including Echlin Manufacturing. Stephen was a member of St. Vincent de Paul church in East Haven and was a life member of Knights of Columbus Council #1200.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave.,East Haven, Monday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3-6pm.
