Obituary of Alyce M. McClure McCormick

On November 30th, 2012 at Apple Rehab in Guilford, Alyce M. McClure McCormick died peacefully with all the grace and dignity with which she lived her life. Born in Chicopee, MA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose St. Pierre McClure. As a small child, Alyce and her family moved to New Haven and she resided in the New Haven area tor the remainder of her long life. She was a graduate of Commercial High School and worked in the New Haven School System for 20 years. In 1942, Alyce married Lester V. McCormick, Jr. (Mac). Their marriage lasted 57 years until his demise in 1999. Alyce was also predeceased by her only brother, Arthur McClure. She is survived by her two children, Patricia and Michael (Joyce) of East Haven; three grandchildren, Andrea of Santa Barbara, CA, Shaun (Alexis) of Cape Coral, FL and Brandon (fiancé Ashley Scasino) of East Haven; her sister and devoted friend, Theresa Amendola McClure and niece Beverly McClure both of New Haven. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven Monday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clare Church at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call Monday morning prior to the Mass from 8:30 – 9:30. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Apple Rehab Guilford for their loving care of Alyce.
