Lena Mary Bertuccini Tata, 95, of Branford, died December 19, 2012 at Connecticut Hospice with all the grace and dignity with which she lived her life. She was the wife of the late Liborio Tata. Mrs. Tata, daughter of the late Vincenzo Bertuccini and Maria Cuomo Bertuccini was born in New Haven June 1, 1917 and lived in Branford for 57 years. She was employed for many years at the Sunbeam Dress Company in New Haven. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church where she was a member of the building fund committee, the carnival committee and also was a former member of the church choir. She was a member of the Annex Senior Center. She leaves a daughter, Adele Barnabei of Madison; a brother, Louis Bertuccini of Hamden, a sister Irene Melotto of Hamden, a son in-law Robert James Barnabei of Madison and a daughter-in-law Dolores Tata of North Haven. She was predeceased by a son Anthony Tata of North Haven, a brother Thomas Bertuccini of East Haven, a sister Jean Sola of Branford and a sister Marguerite Bertuccini. She leaves seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was Great Grandma Tata to her great grandchildren who always looked forward to going to her home for their favorite Ice creams and their to go goodies bags. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. 100 Double Beach Rd.,Branford, Ct. 06405. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave ‚East Haven, Saturday morning at 10:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Church at 10:30. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning prior to the Mass from 9:00 - 10:00.
