Peacefully, at CT Hospice in Branford, Dec 31, 2012, Mildred Almstrom Wallace, 94, a longtime resident of Driscoll Rd.,Branford. Wife of the late William L. Wallace. Mother of William L. Wallace and wife Janet Oakley Wallace of Ridgefield, Martha J. Wallace of Chester and the late David N. Wallace. Grandmother of Colin David Wallace,Devin Oakley Wallace and Blythe Tobey Wallace Bangert and husband Christian. Born Nov.26,1918 in Worcester,MA a daughter of the late Samuel and Berna Nelson Almstrom, she was a graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven and also Stone Business College. She had been employed as an administrative assistant at the New Haven Savings Bank,the White Trucking Co. and for many years by the Branford Board of Education.Mildred was a member of the Tabor Lutheran Church in Branford where she did much volunteer work and was a volunteer at the CT Hospice for twenty four years. She was beloved by many friends and a large extended family, whom she cared for deeply and enjoyed their companionship. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 in Tabor Lutheran Church,Branford. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to CT. Hospice,100 Double Beach Rd.,Branford,CT 06405 or the Tabor Lutheran Church Memorial Fund,45 Tabor Dr.,Branford,CT 06405.
