Obituary of Peter J. Zaremski

Peter John Zaremski,92,of East Haven and Palm Harbor,FL, passed away peacefully at his home in East Haven, Jan.18,2013,surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Rosa Marie Messina Zaremski. Father of Paula Ann Zaremski of Palm Harbor,FL and Maryann (Laurence)Martino of East Haven. Brother of Nellie Pratt of Essex and the late Mary Ardine and Johnny Zaremskas. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, his special neighborhood friends, Jerry,Jack and Bob, his faithful furry companion Minnie and four grandogs.Born Dec.19,1920 in New Haven a son of the late Peter M. and Martha Koncitus Zaremskas, he was a graduate of the former Commercial High School in New Haven,class of 1939 and later attended the Boardman Trade School. Peter served with the US Army during WWII earning several decorations and commendations. He was employed for over forty years by US Steel Corp. in New Haven as a Production Planning Specialist. A true"Mr.Fix-it", he loved nothing more than woodworking,gardening,birdwatching and shopping for a bargain. He also loved traveling, driving his own van back and forth to FL and other destinations and was an avid fan of the UCONN Women's Basketball Team. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home,43 Kirkham Ave.,East Haven, Tuesday morning at 10:00. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese Church, North Haven at 10:30. Entombment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Tuesday morning, prior to the Mass from 9:00-10:00.
