Obituary of Alice Jackson

Alice (Redmond) Jackson, 92, of Meriden, formerly of East Haven and Branford, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her home. She was the wife of the late Leonard C. Jackson Jr. Mrs. Jackson was born in New Haven, CT on October 13, 1920, daughter of the late Joseph F. and Alice S. (Lhyne) Redmond. Mrs. Jackson was a Teacher’s Aide in the East Haven School system. She was the past President of the East Haven Women’s Club and was active in PTA, serving as President of the Momauquin School PTO and Vice President of the Jr. High PTA. She was a long time member of the Old Stone Church in East Haven serving on the Board of Deacon, the Lay Ministry and as a volunteer in the thrift shop. She is survived by sons, Leonard C.(Nancy) Jackson III, of Wallingford and Robert Jackson (Janice) of Branford, grandchildren, Cynthia(Bryan) Short of El Cajon, CA and Richard(Mari) Jackson of Trumbull, four great grandchildren, Brianna Jackson, Dean Jackson, Max Short and Ella Short and a brother Paul(Rita)Redmond of Windsor. She was predeceased by a daughter Pamela A. Jackson. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a memorial service on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Old Stone Church, 251 East Main St., East Haven at 11:00 am. Graveside service will at 2pm in East Lawn Cemetery. Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven will be entrusted with the service.
