Obituary of Gladys N. Hoadley

Gladys N. Hoadley was reunited with her beloved husband the late Philip T. Hoadley on April 22, 2013. Born in New Haven on April 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ralph F. and Edna (Hotchkiss) Newton. She is predeceased by her daughter, Donna L. Conlon and sons, Raymond T. Hoadley and William A. Hoadley. Gladys is survived by a sister, Marjorie Tuscano of Florida, a daughter, Janet D McCallister of Santa Rosa, CA and daughter-in-law, Judith J (Mitchell) Hoadley of East Haven. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. During WWII, Gladys worked as a welder for American Tubing. In addition to raising her family, she was employed by Yale New Haven Hospital where she retired in 1985. Gladys enjoyed doing volunteer work for the East Haven Food Pantry and Christ and The Epiphany Episcopal Church. Family will receive friends from 4-7pm Thursday, April 25th at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, CT. Funeral service will be held on Friday April 26th at 1:00 pm at Christ and The Epiphany Episcopal Church, 39 Park Place, East Haven. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
