Obituary of Eugene Gabrylowicz

Eugene Gabrylowicz, 81 of New Haven, passed away May 11, 2013. He was born July 16, 1931 in New Haven to Stanley and Jane (Zatorski) Gabrylowicz. Eugene is preceded in death by parents and brother, Stanley. He is survived by wife of over 47 years, Patricia (O’Connor) Gabrylowicz and children; Mark Gabrylowicz of New Haven, Jeanie Brewer (Chris) of West Hartford, grandchildren, Brian and Alice Brewer. Eugene is also survived by sister, Doris Leeds (Rex) of Branford and nieces and nephews; Valerie Leeds, Bonnie Sadowy (Hal), Barry Erickson (Nancy), Kevin Erickson (Taylor), Nancy Kendrick (Jamie) and Billy Albinger (Jeanie). Eugene was a US Air Force medic serving in the Korean War and retired City of New Haven Firefighter with over 20 years of service. He was CT Volunteer of the Year recipient for his outstanding dedication and care at Fairview Convalescent Home. He also enjoyed his twelve o’clock weekday friends and was an avid Red Sox fan who always kept the faith. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven at 10:00 AM. Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Donations may be made to American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford CT 06492 in memory of Eugene Gabrylowicz.
