Mary-Ellen Chandler, 64 of East Haven passed away May 22, 2013 peacefully at CT Hospice. She was born May 21, 1949 in New Haven to William and Dorothy (Peters) Lamb. Mary-Ellen is preceded in death by parents, infant granddaughter, Julia Kraszewski, and brother, William Lamb. She is survived by husband of 47 years, Thomas Chandler and children; Debbie Apotrias (Mark) of North Branford, Kathy Chandler of New Haven, grandchildren; Ayden Apotrias and Thomas Kraszewski. Mary-Ellen is also survived by sisters, Georgia Ferraiolo (Donald) of East Haven, Debra Lamb of East Haven, brother, Joseph Lamb of Meriden and dear friend, Elsie Culligan of East Haven. Mary-Ellen was dedicated to her work and retired from the East Haven Public Works after 25 years of service. Blessed by her appreciation of life’s simple gifts, she enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling and time spent on the ocean. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 25, 2013 in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven at 10:00 AM. Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Funeral services in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. The family wishes to thank the staff at Smilow Cancer Hospital, especially the special care provided to her by nurse, Diana. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Lustgarten Foundation, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY, 11714 in memory of Mary-Ellen Chandler.
