Helen A. Kelly, 77 of East Haven passed away May 31, 2013 at CT Hospice. She was born July 11, 1936 in New Haven to Phillip and Mary (Dudek) Siwinski. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Katie Haycock. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John Kelly Sr. and children; John Kelly Jr. of East Haven, Diane LeBlanc (Ronald) of East Haven, Donna Houde (William) of Old Saybrook, Dineen Baldino of East Haven, grandchildren; USCG LT. William Houde (Melissa) of Virginia, Third Asst. Engineer with Military Sealift Command US Navy Johnathan Houde of Italy, US Army Capt. David Houde, Special Operations, Fort Bragg, NC, Renee Burnham (William) of Hamden, Sarah LaBlanc of East Haven, Alora Baldino of East Haven, Nikki Baldino of East Haven and one great grandchild, Safiyah Burnham. Helen is also survived by brothers, Teddy Siwinski (Dottie) of East Haven, Robert Siwinski of Rhode Island and sister, Mary Meyerholz (Robert) of Rhode Island. Helen, a.k.a “Loves.” She was a devoted and loving wife and soulmate of John, a.k.a. “Poppy”. She loved her garden and her bird, cooking for her family, going to Notre Dame football games, the holidays—especially Christmas, and shopping. Her two favorite Christian Hymns were “Let There Be Peace on Earth” and “I Come To The Garden Alone.” She loved sharing her thoughts about her family, and was extremely proud of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave. East Haven at which time the funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 9:30 AM for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clare Church, Coe Ave., East Haven. Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford CT 06405 in memory of Helen Kelly.
