Marie V. Forslund, 88 of New Haven, passed away June 1, 2013. She was born February 14, 1925 in New Haven to Joseph and Mary (Sulok) Drexler. She is preceded in death by parents, son, retired EHPD, William Forslund, sister, Dorothy Gamber and brother, Harold French. Marie is survived by loving husband of 68 years, William Forslund Sr. and two daughters; Christine Cain (John) of Hamden and Patricia Macolino (Ernie) of Branford. Marie is also survived by three grandchildren, Christopher Forslund (Jennifer), Michael Goclowski (Angela), Elissa Goclowski , great-granddaughter, Brianna Forslund and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Forslund of Northford. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6 at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bernadette Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven. Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery. The family would like to thank Apple Rehab Laurel Woods in East Haven for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a charity of your choice in memory Marie V. Forslund.
