Joseph Paolillo 91, of East Haven, passed away June 10, 2013. He was born March 17, 1922 in East Haven to Alphonse and Lucia (DiLieto) Paolillo. Joseph is preceded in death by parents and wife Lucy (Fusco) Paolillo. Joseph is survived by three children; Alphonse Paolillo (Deborah) of Maine, Lucille Houde (William) of Branford, John Paolillo (Cynthia) of Westbrook, two grandchildren; Marisa Paolillo and Matthew Paolillo. Joseph is also survived by siblings, Antoinette Culos of Guilford, Ronald Paolillo (Ann) of East Haven and Carmel DeMichele of New Haven. Joseph retired from Yale University where he was budget officer for the University Library. He was a member of the Legion of Mary and parish council of St. Vincent de Paul Church. He was past grand night for the Knights of Columbus Father Reagan Council #3300. Joseph was a US Navy Veteran of WWII serving on the USS Astoria. He and his wife Lucy were married 50 years and enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. He was an avid Red Sox and UCONN Women’s basketball fan and always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave. East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:30 am for a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven. Committal to follow with military honors at St. Agnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CT Hospice of Branford, 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford CT 06405 or The American Heart Association in memory of Joseph Paolillo.
