Rosemary Weir (Malloy), 89 of East Haven, passed away June 16, 2013. She was born December 1, 1923 in New Haven to John and Violet (Sharron) Malloy. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, John P. Weir. Rosemary is survived by three children; Rosemary Grehl (Robert) of East Haven, John “Dutch” Weir Jr. (Theresa) of Wallingford, Joan Corbett (John) of East Haven, six cherished grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was a retired employee of SNET with 20 years of service and a lifetime member of the Pioneers. Rosemary loved living near the ocean; she enjoyed walks and riding her bike. She played cards (Skippo) and did word search puzzles. In her retirement years she spent her winters in Pompano Beach, Florida and summers in Hampton Beach, NH.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven from 9 to 10 am. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on that day at 10 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Francis Church, Ferry Street, New Haven. Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Francis School, Alumni Fund, 423 Ferry Str., New Haven CT 06513 in memory of Rosemary Weir.
