Donald Ahearn, 73 of Wallingford, passed away July 27, 2013. He was born February 11, 1940 in New Haven to John and Mary (Malone) Ahearn. He is preceded in death by parents and brother, Michael Ahearn. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jean (Clark) Ahearn, daughter, LauriAnne DeMartino (Raymond) of Meriden and son, Mark Ahearn of Wallingford. Donald is also survived by two grandchildren, Rhiannon DeMartino and Danyelle Ahearn and a sister, MaryEllen Durso of Wallingford. Donald was a US NAVY veteran and retired correctional officer with State of Connecticut for 22 years. He later worked in the maintenance department of Anthem Blue Cross and the City of Milford. Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven CT. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450 in memory of Donald Ahearn.
