John Orifice, 88 of East Haven passed away August 5, 2013. He was born June 23, 1925 in New Haven to Dominic and Adelaide (Brino) Abate. He is preceded in death by parents, son, John A. Orifice, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers; Orlando “Burt”, Edward “Eddie”, Rinaldo “Lenny” Orifice, sisters; Mary Streeto, Mildred Pisani, Eleanor Gambardella and Anna Mellotti. John is survived by loving wife of 27 years, Irene (Upton) Orifice and children; Mackey Granata (Anthony) of North Branford, Marie Warner (Allen) of East Haven, Patricia Santos of East Haven, Rosemary Brezicki (Rudy) of Northford, Barbara Franco (Mike) of Branford, Jackie Roy of Wallingford, Rinaldo Orifice (Kay) of Louisiana, step children; Deborah Bunnell of New Haven, Cindy Bouley of East Haven, and Susan Eburg of East Haven. John is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and a sister, Betty Petrillo of Waterford. John was a US Marine Corp veteran of WWII, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Amphibious Fleet Marine Force, South Pacific and retired Teamster Local 443, truck driver. John was former Secretary of The Elm City Motorcycle Division, former member of New Haven Auxiliary Police Motorcycle Division, member of the Founders of the Cardiac Caring and Sharing Group at the VA Medical Hospital and member of the Northford Volunteer Fire Department. Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven will be handling the services. A special thanks to Apple Rehabilitation in Guilford for their kind and compassionate care. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a graveside service with military honor at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 10 AM.
