Elizabeth "Betty" Alex, 83 of North Branford, passed away September 23, 2013 after a long illness. She was born December 26, 1929 in New Haven to Raymond and Jane (Reynolds) Cooper. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, John Alex and her beloved daughter, Betty Celone (Steven) of North Branford and 3 sons: Robert, Thomas and Mark Alex. Betty is also survived by her granddaughter Alicia Celone of North Branford who was her pride and joy and four more grandchildren along with brother, Charles Cooper (Florence) of New Hampshire and sister, Jane Dippold of Wallingford and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Thomas Cooper and sister, Marion Dippold.
The family would like to thank Twin Maples Health Care in Durham for their kind and compassionate care of Betty, especially Charlotte Allen, whose devotion and care to Betty will be in our hearts forever.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven from 9 AM until the time of service at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 in memory of Betty Alex.
