Obituary of Patricia S. Miller

Patricia S. Miller, 79 of New Haven and East Haven, passed away October 14, 2013 at CT Hospice. She was born February 2, 1934 in Worcester, MA to Gilbert and Mary (Mirakian) Swanberg. She is preceded in death by parents, husband, Donald J. Miller and brother, David Swanberg. Patricia is survived by her two daughters; Kathleen Brown (David) of Charleston, SC and Linda Sabino (Michael) of New Haven, grandchildren; Melissa Cusano, Lisa Loftis (Brian), Krista Brown, Jennifer Patton (Rory), Teresa Sabino and Michael J. Sabino. Patricia is also survived by five great grandchildren; Dylan Loftis, Jazmin Loftis, Isabella Suraci, Riley Patton, Chloe Patton and a sister, Joyce Benzi (widow of John Benzi) of Guilford. Patricia moved to New Haven, CT when she was 10. She married her childhood sweetheart at 20 years old and raised her 2 daughters in East Haven. Patricia worked as a Customer Service Representative at SNET for 28 years and was a member of the Pioneers Club. She moved to Charleston, SC in 1990 and lived for the sunshine. She returned to CT in 2005. Patricia a.k.a. "Nana" or "Big Nana" is best known for her fun, witty sense of humor, her generosity and her love of chocolate. She will be missed dearly by her many friends and family that she leaves behind. Family will receive friends from 9 AM until 10:30 AM on Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 10:30 for a 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven.
