Eleanor Pauline Smith, 82 of East Haven, passed into the promise of the Lord on October 30, 2013. She is preceded in death by her adoring husband, John E. Smith. Eleanor is survived by four loving and faithful sons; James E. Smith, Paul T. Smith, John R. Smith, Thomas W. Smith and their wives. Eleanor is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, a brother, Paul F. Steir and her family of “The South.” Eleanor was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who cherished her family.
Family will receive friends from 11:45 AM until the time of service at 12:45 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford CT 06405 in memory of Eleanor Pauline Smith.
