Anthony “Tony” Scasino “Big Guy”, 65 of East Haven passed away December 9, 2013. He was born September 16, 1948 in New Haven to Anthony and Mary (Marcucci) Scasino. He is preceded in death by parents and sister, Antonia Romano. Tony is survived by the love of his life of 29 years Doris (Doheny) Scasino and four children; Anthony Scasino(Alberta) of New Haven, Robert Scasino of North Carolina, Ashley Scasino(fiancée Brandon McCormick) of East Haven, and Amanda Scasino of East Haven, three grandchildren; Luke Anthony McCormick “His Rock and Roll Baby Boy”, Alexandra and Arianna Scasino. Tony is also survived by brother, Robert Scasino of Cromwell, loyal friend, Tommy Morgillo of New Haven, and Tony’s two little buddies, Joshua Richardson and Justin Golia Jr.
Tony was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Tony was the former owner of A&M Auto Body in Hamden. He most recently employed as a poker dealer at Mohegan Sun. He was an avid Giants and New York Yankee fan. Tony was a friend to all and had an impact on many.
Family will receive friends from 1 – 4 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Monday at 9:10 am for a 9:30 Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville FL, 32256 in memory of Anthony “Tony” Scasino.
