Diane Elizabeth Nargi died peacefully on December 20, 2013. She was born in the historic Wooster Square area and educated at St. Louis Grammar School, St. Mary’s High School and received her Associates Degree from Gateway Community College. She worked at Aetna Ins. Co, 2nd Federal and Loan Assoc., 1st constitution bank, Yale School of Medicine and Thomson Reuters. She was a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul Church and a devout catholic. She leaves her sister, Marion Hendzel (Hank Hendzel) of Killingworth, sister, Marcia Wunderlich of East Haven and brother, David Nargi of Scottsdale AZ. She also leaves a niece, Jessica Wunderlich and nephews, Eric Wunderlich, Brandon, Mark & Brian Hendzel. She also leaves her aunt and uncle, Joseph and Josephine (Anastasio) Amatruda who were like her second parents. She is also survived by aunts, Annette, Luella & Rose Anastasio, Uncle John Nargi and many loving cousins and friends, especially those from the American Legion Post 89 & Fort Hale Park. She was pre deceased by parents, Alfred and Rose Nargi, grandparents Salvatore and Maria Anastasio, Mariano and Erminia Nargi, and many aunts and uncles. She served proudly in the US Naval Reserve and loved the ocean. She loved animals and was known as the “treat lady” at the EH animal shelter. She enjoyed the music of Elvis and the Rolling Stones. She loved her family dearly and was their rock. She will be sadly missed. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Smilo Cancer Hospital and Father McGuire. Donations may be made to EH animal shelter and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of Diane Nargi. Family will receive friends from 9 AM until 10:15 AM, Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 10:15 for a 10:30 Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven with military honors.
