Walter Ehrler, 59 of East Haven passed away July 4, 2014. He was born April 29, 1955 in New Haven to Walter and Jane (McGuire) Ehrler. He is preceded in death by parents and brother, Patrick Ehrler. Walter is survived by daughter, Morgan Ehrler of Guilford, brothers, Thomas Ehrler (Charlotte) of New Haven, William Ehrler of East Haven and sister, Patricia Ehrler of East Haven. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews; Thomas Ehrler, Cara Pascarella, Brittney Ehrler, William Ehrler, Teresa Gonsalves and Daniel Gonsalves.
He was a graduate of East Haven High School in 1973 and was a quarterback for the East Haven Yellow Jackets. He was then employed by O.F. Mossberg and later Stop and Shop distribution center in North Haven, CT. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was well known in the East Haven community.
Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven. Burial will be private. Funeral services are in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven.
