Betty Ann Carrano, 58, went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. She was born on February 10, 1956 to Mary (Ferraro) and Salvatore Carrano of New Haven, CT. A long time New Haven resident, Betty Ann attended Benjamin Jepson Elementary School, St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and was a 1974 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in New Haven. Betty and her family then moved to East Haven, where she enjoyed going to the town beach. She always knew the weather forecast and couldn't wait to feel the warm sun on her face. She was fond of eating out at shoreline restaurants and Starbucks coffee. Betty was a beach babe, a fashionist and a cat lover. She will always be remembered as a kind, loving, thoughtful and loyal friend. Betty was an Administrative Assistant at the Credit Bureau of CT since 1974, and had many wonderful co-workers. Betty is survived by her nephew, Kris Carrano, his wife Kelley Hangos-Carrano and their son, Connor, whom she adored. Her cousins Marilyn (Gary) Pezzullo, Gina Pezzullo and Dominic Beshara, Steven (Sandra) and Mia Pezzullo; Anthony (Ann), Carl, Damien, Gary, Gina and Richard Carrano; Thomas (Diana), Thomas III, and Justine Murray; and Carolyn, David and Carissa Carofano. Her lifelong friends, Laura, Joanne and Doreen; beach friends, Lisa, Cindy, Phyllis, Melissa, Denise, Annie, Diane and Beverly; and her extended family, Karen, George and Bill Hangos. Betty was a friend to so many people; it would be hard to list them all. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Pasquale Carrano. Visitation will be on Monday, July 14, 2014, from 4-7pm at Clancy's Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven,CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven,CT. Betty will be interred in the family plot at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven following mass. In lieu of flowers, you may donate for a memorial bench to be placed at Betty's favorite beach, East Haven Town Beach on Cosey Beach Avenue. Donations can be made out to Kris Carrano, and mailed to Clancy's Funeral Home (address above), Attn: Betty Carrano memorial bench.
