Stanley W. Morcus Jr., 86, of West Haven, formerly of East Haven passed away July 20, 2014 at Apple Rehab in West Haven. He was born April 19, 1928 in Ansonia to the late Stanley Morcus and Helen Machutas. Stanley is survived by two children; Andrew Morcus (Carolyn) of Hamden, Kathleen Pacheco (widow of Edward) of Colorado Springs, CO, brother; Richard Morcus (Ruth) of Punta Gorda, FL, grandchildren; Samuel Haller and Julian Haller. Stanley is also survived by longtime companion, Lois Fitzgerald of West Haven. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired with over 37 years of service from Yale University. He was a former Fire Commissioner in East Haven and was a member of VFW Post 2090 in East Haven, American Legion Post 175 in East Haven, Waucoma Yacht Club and Elks Lodge 25 both in New Haven.
Family will receive friends Friday, July 25 from 9 AM until the time of service at 11 AM in the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery with military honors.
