Gloria Leslie 85, of Branford passed away August 27, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born April 8, 1929 in New Haven to Charles and Eva (Menard) Billings. Gloria is preceded in death by parents and husband, Arthur Leslie. She is survived by sister-in-law, Linda (Leslie) and her husband, Edward Zalonski, of East Haven, nephew, Paul Zalonski of East Haven and niece, Lauren Zalonski of Branford.
Gloria graduated from Larson College in 1949 and later retired from SNET as a supervisor with over 35 years of service. She was a member of the SNET Pioneers, the New Haven Women’s Club and the New Haveners Club. With her husband Gloria was a member of the Branford Yacht Club.
Family will receive from 6-8pm on Friday, August 29th at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Saturday at 8:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Rd., East Haven. Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to The Monastery of The Glorious Cross, 61 Burban Dr., Branford, CT, 06405 in memory of Gloria Leslie. The family would like to thank YNHH Neuroscience ICU healthcare teams and staff for their exceptional and personal care.
