Mary Keish Kelly 77 of East Haven passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2014 at home. She was born October 11, 1936 in New Haven to William Sr. and Lillian (Confrey) Keish. She is preceded in death by parents, brother, William Keish Jr., brother-in-law and wife, George Kelly (Joan). Mary is survived by loving husband of 55 years, Shaun Kelly and children; Sean Kelly (Grace) of Southport, Barbara Durkin (Jim) of Long Grove, IL., Daniel Kelly (Kelley) of S.Windsor, Stephen Kelly (Jennifer) of Fairfield and Mary Kate Gardiner (Jim) of Fairfield. Mary is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; Kaitlin Kelly, Sean Patrick Kelly, Timothy Kelly, Mary Kate Durkin, Jimmy Durkin, Elizabeth Durkin, Sean Durkin, Daniel Kelly, Bridget Kelly, Stephen Kelly, Emily Kelly, Charlie Gardiner, Lily Gardiner, Thomas Gardiner, two sisters; Barbara O’Sullivan (Fred) of Madison, Bernadette DiGiovanni (Joe) of Ipswich, MA, sister-in-laws; Doris Keish of Branford, Mary Granfield (widow of Bill) of Branford and brother-in-law, Charles Kelly of Naples, FL. Mary was a 1954 graduate of Hillhouse HS, which is also where she met her beloved husband, Shaun. They were married in 1959 and originally lived in New Haven. She worked at SNETCO until she gave it up to raise her five children in East Haven. She will be remembered for her amazing capacity to love and her generosity to her family and everyone she encountered. Her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews will miss her forever and never forget the joy of her presence. Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 PM on Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9:40 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, East Haven. Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2969 Whitney Ave., Hamden CT 06518 in memory of Mary Kelly.
