Obituary of Patricia Korngiebel

Patricia Cook Korngiebel, 74, a lifelong resident of East Haven, died peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2014 following a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Earl F. Korngiebel, Jr. and their two daughters, Cheryl Korngiebel Sgrignari (Michael) of East Greenich, R.I. and Deborah Korngiebel Suprono (William) of Wallingford. Mrs. Korngiebel was also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew and Christopher Sgrignari, Kevin and Katie Suprono. Patricia was born June 9, 1940 in New Haven to the late Irving and Marjorie (Hotchkiss) Cook. Mrs. Korngiebel, known as “Pat” by her many friends and relatives was employed in several administrative assistant positions throughout her working years. Upon retirement. Pat volunteered for the East Haven English as a Second Language Program, the East Haven Food Bank and East Haven United, a community organization designed to improve cooperation among the residents of the town. Pat was also an active member of Old Stone Church for many years. She had several hobbies, including cross-stitching. Every year Pat cross-stitched matching gifts for her daughters and lovingly gave them as Christmas gifts in the name of “Mrs. Claus.” In addition, Pat enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 17th, at 10 AM in Old Stone Church, 251 Main St., East Haven. Burial to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
