Leroy Brockett 70, of East Haven passed away October 22, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven. He was born December 20, 1943 in New Haven to Clarence and Evelyn (Handy) Brockett. He is preceded in death by parents, daughter, Patricia Brockett, brother, Peter Brockett, and step-child, Tammy Livingston. Leroy is survived by his wife, Ruth “Bonnie “ Lamb Brockett of East Haven, children; Sherry Brockett, Donna Foster, Lisa Brockett, Leroy Brockett Jr., Cynthia Brockett, Keith Brockett, Roosevelt Brockett, step-children; Bonnie Collins, Sherry Seabolt and Lisa Klemser, and former wife, Carmel Phillips. Leroy is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, brothers; Lawrence Brockett (Carolyn), Joseph Brockett (Shelly), Donald Brockett, sisters; Carol Boughton (Rick), Margaret Schelle, Sharon Richardson (Ray), Susan Chaplin (Jeff). Leroy was past Commander of the American Legion Post 89 in East Haven and past Commander of the 2nd District of American Legion, Dept. of CT.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Wednesday, October 29th at 11:00 am in the Old Stone Church, 251 Main St., East Haven. Burial will be private.
