Obituary of Mary Fanning

Mary Fanning 91, a lifelong resident of West Haven passed away April 2, 2015 at home. She was born November 9, 1923 in New Haven to the late Clovis H. and Marie (VanHerck) Fanning. She is the loving aunt of Henry J. Fanning Jr. (Diane) of Lake Carmel, NY, cherished great aunt of Daniel, Caitlin, and Nicole Fanning. Mary attended grammar school at St. Francis of New Haven until high school at West Haven High. Ms. Fanning was employed at the New Haven Post Office as one of the first female workers in the 1950’s, working there for over three decades. Prior to that, she spent time during the war working at Winchesters in New Haven. She is preceded in death by parents and brother, Henry J. Fanning Sr. and his wife Lorraine (Appleby) Fanning. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11 AM in St. Paul Catholic Church, 898 First Ave., West Haven CT with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
